Privacy Policy

Big Sendies ("we", "us", or "our") is a climbing tracking app built by climbers, for climbers. This policy explains what data we collect, why we collect it, and how you can control it. We don't sell your data. We never have.

1. Data We Collect

• Account information — your display name, email address, and username when you create an account via Apple or Google Sign-In.
• Climb data — sessions, climbs, grades, ratings, notes, and performance metrics you log within the app.
• Location — approximate location when you search for nearby gyms or outdoor crags. We do not track your location in the background.
• Photos — profile photos and any images you attach to feedback reports or route cards. These are stored securely in Firebase Storage.
• Device information — device model and iOS version, collected only when you submit feedback to help us reproduce issues.
• Usage data — basic app activity (e.g. sessions started) used to improve the app. We do not use advertising identifiers.

2. How We Use Your Data

• To provide and improve the Big Sendies app and its features.
• To sync your climb history across your devices.
• To enable social features like friends, activity feeds, and reactions.
• To respond to support requests and bug reports you submit.
• To show you nearby climbing locations when you choose to share your location.

3. Data Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties for advertising or marketing purposes. Your data is shared only with the following services necessary to operate the app:

• Firebase (Google) — authentication, database, and file storage. Firebase Privacy Policy

4. Social Features

If you add friends, your display name, username, and profile photo are visible to your friends. Your climb sessions and achievements may appear in friends' activity feeds. You can remove friends at any time from within the app.

5. Data Retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, all associated data — including climb sessions, profile information, friend connections, and uploaded photos — is permanently deleted from our systems within a reasonable timeframe.

6. Deleting Your Account

You can permanently delete your account and all associated data at any time from within the app: Settings → Delete Account. Deletion is immediate and cannot be undone.

7. Children's Privacy

Big Sendies is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

8. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have rights regarding your personal data, including the right to access, correct, or delete it. To exercise these rights or ask any privacy-related questions, contact us at support@bigsendies.com.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we'll update the "Last updated" date at the top. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
